Life is a precious gift that we should try to make the most of. I think that we can do that by trying to live intentionally. Living an intentional life might seem like some huge accomplishment, but it’s definitely not impossible if you try.
I would love to share some helpful tips to help you live a life you love, a life full of purpose. When you live intentionally, it can help you enjoy your life more and be happier. This again can help you be a better person, and the people around you can also benefit from that.
These are some tips that I have been trying to apply in my life. It’s not always as easy as it looks, but it is possible to live intentionally and love the life you live if you keep trying.
How to live intentionally?
1. Find out who you are
To live intentionally, you must first know who you are. You need to get to know yourself and figure out what you want out of life.
Getting to know yourself is an essential step towards living intentionally. Find out why you are the way that you are, why you handle things the way you do, your likes dislikes.
To find your purpose in life, you first must know what in life gives you drive, what you love, and then live intentionally trying to accomplish that.

2. Do things with a purpose
Try to find out why you are doing the things you do. Find out what the purpose is of the things you do each day. Why are you going to work? Why do you work there? Why do you binge-watch a whole season in 1 day?
And even if the purpose is to practice some self-care, to relax, be aware of that. Instead of just living and seeing what might happen, try attaching a reason to the things you do.
3. Do things that bring value to your life or that of others
In addition to my previous point, when you do the things you do, try to see if it brings any value to your life or to someone else’s.
If your activity seems useless or can harm your life or someone else’s, maybe you shouldn’t do it.
If binge-watching a series today is because it can help you relax after a week of continually working, and this is your way of self-care, then go ahead and do it. You deserve some free time.
But if binge-watching a series is going to cost you your sleep while you need to be at work at 7, is that the most valuable thing to do?
4. Stop trying to please everyone
You will never be satisfied or live intentionally if you constantly try to please everyone. People will always expect something else.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t do anything for others, but if you’ve done your best, that’s all you can do. You should live out your purpose, live your life intentionally, and not live for them.
5. Try planning your days
Writing down the things you need to get done for the day or the week can help you do tasks intentionally. This way, you focus on what needs to be done instead of just seeing how things go every day.
That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be flexible at all and leave no room for any spontaneous activities. But having a clear vision of the things that most certainly need to be done can help you live intentionally while also being spontaneous.
6. Practice more self-love
Love yourself, unconditionally. By loving yourself, you can find out what purpose you have in life. Any intentions you set for yourself should be out of love for your life.
Living a life you love is impossible if you don’t even love yourself.
And there you have it, 6 tips to help you live intentionally. Remember that living an intentional life will differ for everyone because every body’s purpose is different in life. Don’t compare your life to someone else’s to see if you are living intentionally or not.
