Ready to start exercising regularly to improve your overall health, but don’t know where or how to start? Do you want to exercise, but don’t like going to the gym? This list can help you with that. I’ve listed some simple and fun ways you can exercise regularly and stay in good shape. These are daily activities we often don’t even realize that they can be considered as an exercise
These exercises are a great way to help maintain a healthy life because you use large groups of muscles and most of them are very easy to do. You just need to do them long enough and frequently enough.
Another tip before we get to the list is to exercise daily for at least 30 minutes, to stay in good shape and health. This might differ a little bit depending on the type of exercise you do. You can also combine these exercises, for example, doing 15 min of one, 5 minutes another and 10 minutes another one.
To know which exercise you need to do how long you can use the CME point system. This system is developed after a broad range of research done by an exercise physiologist. By following this point system you can use fun and daily activities for your regular needed amount of exercise.
You just need around 150 points a day, and it doesn’t matter if all the 150 points come from 1 exercise. This way you don’t even need to hit the gym to stay in shape. For some, you don’t even need to leave your house.
1 Walking (moderate for 30 min. 150 points)
There is no easier way of exercising than walking. We literally walk every day, we just need to do it more. Walking helps to put your whole body in motion and you use the largest group of muscles, your legs. You can go for a simple walk around the block or hog a little. You can walk to a nearby store or a friend’s house. If needed you can easily increase your exercise by walking longer distances, by running/jogging instead of walking or by walking up hills.
2 Biking (moderate 30 min. 250 points)
Biking is one of the most basic exercises we learn in life. Almost everyone got a bike as a kid and learned how to ride one. By cycling, you are also using the largest group of muscles, your legs, without having to carry your body weight. You can easily do this by taking your bike instead of the car or by buying an exercise bike and cycle whenever you want in the comfort of your own home. If needed you can easily increase your exercise by biking longer distances, biking uphill, biking with weight or by increasing the intensity on your indoor bicycle.
3 Sexual activity (15 min. 25 points)
This is an amazing way of exercise, because who doesn’t enjoy a good session of sexual activity. You use almost your whole body and can get your heartbeat up. You can do this in the comfort of your own home while having a great time with your partner.

Dancing is often seen just as a hobby, but it is a great way of exercising. You can go to a dance school, but you can also just pump up your music at home and get to moving in your living room. Practice your moves, have fun and stay healthy.
5 Swimming (moderate 30 min. 230 points)
What I love about swimming is that you often don’t feel how tired you are until you get out of the water. So you can be busy longer and you can cool off while exercising on a hot day. You can also bring your kids to the pool and exercise while having a fun family activity. You can increase this exercise by swimming longer or by using different swimming techniques that are more intense.
6 Rope jumping (moderate 30 min. 200 points)
Rope jumping might not be for everyone, because it might be a bit heavy on the knees. But if you like this activity and your knees are up for it, it might be a great way to stay in shape. You can easily turn this into a challenge by counting how many times you can jump without missing a jump. You can increase this exercise by adding several techniques to jumping your rope or by trying to jump faster.
7 Cleaning (heavy 30 min. 150 points)
We all need to clean our house from time to time, some have a cleaning employee, but others do it their self. And those who do their cleaning by themselves know how intensive it might be when cleaning up your whole house. And yes this can count as regular exercise, so you’re being productive in 2 ways.
8 Washing your car by hand (moderate 30 min. 60 points)
When you wash your car by hand, you bend all kinds of ways, do squats and a lot more. This can get very intensive if you want to give it a good cleanout. This is another way of being productive, getting one of your chores done and exercise.
9 Gardening (moderate 30 min. 150 points)
Gardening can be a lot of fun. It is a hobby of a lot of people. It is an amazing feeling to see things you’ve planted grow and if you’re planting vegetables, it is also very satisfying to eat from what you’ve planted yourself.
